About Me
I’m Kerrie Nichols
Kerrie Nichols is an illustrator and graphic designer. She combines her knowledge of fine art and digital software to create colorful and whimsical illustrations and dynamic graphics. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from San Jose State University and took many courses in design, composition, and technique for traditional art. She has experience working with many mediums ranging from printmaking to impressionistic painting, and realistic drawing. She has also worked with 3D mediums such as glass blowing, ceramics, and bronze casting and sculpting.
Since Kerrie has been an elementary teacher for 12 years, she also uses her skills and experiences from being an educator to contribute to the creation process. There’s never a dull moment in teaching, so she is not afraid to take on new challenges. Kerrie also has experience presenting in large groups of people, and making abstract ideas and concepts easily understandable for a wide range of audiences through art. She loves creating different types of visuals and graphics that all people can enjoy.
When Kerrie is not creating visuals, she is spending time with her husband and three children. They love to travel together to experience new things and go on many types of adventures. They create lots of inspiration for Kerrie and support her dream of having an art career.
My Skills
I use art and drawing software called Procreate and Adobe Photoshop. Using other tech devices, such as my iPad and touchscreen computer, is a must. I’m also a fast learner, so I like to pick up new tricks that will contribute to my art skills.
“The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance.”
